A Little Art Break to Brussels

Following on from the Little Fashion Break in Paris we did a couple of weeks ago last week we had another Little Break, this time to Brussels with some lovely art and design bloggers.
Meeting at 7am at St Pancras everyone was fresh faced and got on immediately finding out more about each other as unlike our Little Fashion break everyone’s blogged about slightly different interests from street art, to drawing, as well as design and modern art.
Brussels is only two hours away on the Eurostar but the journey still went surprisingly quickly as after a lovely breakfast of fresh bread, croissants, fruit platter and a fried breakfast we shortly pulled into Brussels Midi.
The first stop on our Little Break was a guided tour round Magritte Museum. Despite being one of Belgium’s most well known painters the museum only opened in June this year.
After a morning spent at the museum we took advantage of the gorgeous weather (28 degrees!) and headed down to Brussels Beach or Bruxelles les Bains for a BBQ lunch.
As it was such a lovely day we spent the afternoon wandering the streets of Brussels taking in the sites as well as the infamous comic strip murals as well as some interesting street art.
Along the way we also ran into a local festival by the Manneken Pis where we sampled what was described as the best beer in the world along side Belgium chocolate and snails – obviously not at the same time!
After a taste for all things Belgium we then headed to Chez Leon by the Grand Place and sampled a range of Belgium beers as well as Cheese, Kip Kap and the mussels Brussels is so famous for.
Sun kissed and relaxed we made our way back to the Eurostar full of stories from the days activities. We had such a beautiful day and met so many lovely people it was definitely a little break to remember.
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us on the day; Mark and Tom from UK Street Art, Mo from Fresh Eyes on London, Alex from 30gms Fibre Design, Radim from Brand Nu, Gordon from Middleboop, Katherine from Making a Mark, Mehrdad from Aref Adbi, David from David the Designer, and Lux and Jounik form Happy Famous Artists.
Brussels Beach, Brussels Midi, Chez Leon, little break to brussels, Magritte Museum, Manneken Pis

Immerse yourself in another culture and discover more about the places you visit. Did you know that the Belgian Artist Magritte was born 110 years ago? Did you know that Gustave Eiffel who designed the Eiffel tower also invented suspenders?
